The Process
Exactly what happens — before, during, and after.
From the first conversation to after the session — here’s exactly what working with Nate involves, step by step.
Most people who reach out are interested — but unsure what this actually involves. This page is here to make that clear. No guesswork, no vague language — just a straightforward look at what happens, step by step.
Discovery Call
Most people come to this with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty. The discovery call is where we sort out whether this is the right fit before either of us commits to anything.
It's fifteen minutes. It's free. Nate will ask about what you're carrying, what you've already tried, what you're hoping for, and whether this feels like the right time. You should come with questions too — about how he works, what to expect, anything that's been sitting in the back of your mind.
If it seems like a good fit, you'll talk about next steps. If it doesn't, he'll say so.
There’s no expectation to move forward. The goal is simply to figure out if this makes sense for you.
Preparation
Preparation isn't a formality. It's a substantial part of the work.
Before any session, you and Nate will spend time going through your history, your intentions, what you want to bring into the room, and what concerns you. This isn't a checklist — it's a real conversation, and it shapes what happens in the session.
Nate won't move forward if something in the intake gives him pause. That might feel like a barrier, but it's actually a form of care — for you and for the work. The quality of the preparation determines a lot about what becomes possible.
By the time you reach the session, you won’t be walking in unsure — you’ll know what to expect.
The Session
Sessions take place at a licensed service center in Oregon. You'll arrive, settle in, and have time to orient before anything begins. The psilocybin is sourced from a licensed manufacturer and lab-tested — you know what you're taking.
A session typically runs four to six hours. Nate is present the entire time. His role isn't to direct where you go or interpret what surfaces — it's to hold steady presence and make sure you're safe. If something difficult comes up — and sometimes it does — he's there. That consistency is part of what makes this work.
You’re not left to figure anything out on your own — the structure and support are there the entire time.
You'll have time to reorient before you leave. You won't be rushed.
Integration
What happens after a session matters as much as what happens during it. A follow-up integration conversation is included, and Nate is available if things come up in the days that follow.
Integration is the work of making sense of what opened — sitting with it, letting it move through, finding what it means in the context of the rest of your life. It's not analysis. It's not a second session. It's a conversation with someone who was in the room with you.
Results vary. Some people feel a clear shift. Some feel the change more gradually. Integration is part of how you work with whatever happened.
You’re not expected to make sense of everything immediately — integration is where things begin to settle and take shape.
What this is not
Not a quick fix — and not meant to be
Not about pushing you into anything
Not a replacement for clinical therapy
Not something you’re expected to be ready for immediately
Practical Details
A few things people usually want to know.
How long does a session take?
Four to six hours is typical. Plan to have the rest of the day clear — you won't be driving yourself home.
Where does it happen?
At a licensed service center in Oregon. The space is quiet, calm, and set up specifically for this kind of work.
Do I need to have done this before?
No. Most people haven't. What matters more is your readiness and whether the preparation process goes well.
What if something hard comes up during the session?
Difficult experiences are possible, and they’re not a sign something went wrong. Nate’s job is to be present through whatever surfaces — that’s part of what the preparation is for. You won’t be left alone with it.
Is this covered by insurance?
Not currently. Psilocybin services aren't covered by insurance at this time. See the rates page for pricing.
